VILMED storefront improvements
We run a large medical-equipment store on Bitrix: sticky header and smart search, catalog and product-card UX, SEO filters, ERP sync, composite/Brotli, and shell cleanup. Live — vilmed.ru.
About the client
VILMED is an online store of professional medical equipment: 15,000+ SKUs, ships across the country, catalog by specialties (veterinary, ENT, ophthalmology, surgery, endoscopy, and more). Platform — Bitrix with an ALTOP solution; we improve the storefront, speed, and security.
The pain they came with
A generic “power tools” template does not fit B2B medical gear: header and search are awkward on mobile, a catalog with dozens of subcategories balloons, the product card does not lead to “request a price”, the gallery duplicates photos, and production had shells plus heavy TTFB without composite.
-
Template not built for medical gear
ALTOP “power tools” is a base, but header, search, and product card are not tuned for a medical buyer and a “price on request” flow.
-
Catalog with dozens of subcategories
Section lists became a wall of text. On mobile the sidebar got in the way; “show more” and a filter by category names were missing.
-
Speed and security
Heavy blocks, duplicate gallery photos, shells in upload/assets — without composite, Brotli, and hardening the storefront and admin were at risk.
How we guided them
We iterate on a live Bitrix store: first the buyer path (header, catalog, product card), then SEO / warehouse-sync tools and performance, in parallel — shell audit and hardening. Without taking the storefront down.
- 01
Sticky header: off-canvas catalog, smart search (layout, typos, brands), “open today until…” schedule
- 02
Catalog: “first 12 + show more”, mobile subcategory filter, hide the noisy sidebar
- 03
Product card: SKU next to price, “request a price”, compare/save, lightbox, “bought with this”, photo dedupe
- 04
SEO filters, category-finder, SKU generator, brand sync, ERP/warehouse exchange
- 05
Composite, Brotli, drop ORDER BY RAND() in storefront blocks
- 06
Security: remove shells, block PHP in upload/images, harden admin/ajax
In plain speak
Brief jargon — without the fog. How we explained each step to the client.
Sticky header + smart search
While scrolling, the header stays at hand. Search fixes layout and typos — the buyer finds the device faster, not an empty theme dropdown.
12 subcategories + “show more”
Instead of an endless grid — a short list and a button. On phone, also a filter by section name.
Composite and Brotli
Pages reach real browsers faster: HTML cache + compression. Curl “without cache” at ~2–4 s is not what the shopper sees.
Shell cleanup
We found and removed dozens of malicious PHP files in images/upload and blocked script execution in those folders.
What we did, step by step
Each step is a concrete change. Meaning on the left, screen on the right.
Medical equipment catalog
Sections by clinic specialty: from anesthesiology to lab. Subcategories collapse; on mobile — search by section names.
Main storefront
Header with search and cart, promo slider, trust blocks (delivery, registrations, manufacturers, quotes). Sticky header keeps catalog and phone while scrolling.
Product card for B2B
SKU next to price, “request a price”, compare and save, custom gallery lightbox, “bought with this item” from Bitrix order stats.
More frames from the project
Not a gallery for its own sake — a few screens that complete the picture.
